FAQs

Questions we’re often asked

Can’t find your answer? Talk to an adviser.

When do I need to register for VAT?

You must register if your taxable turnover over the last 12 months goes over £90,000, or if you expect it to go over £90,000 in the next 30 days alone. You can also register voluntarily below the threshold if it suits your business.

Do I charge VAT on marketplace sales?

It depends where the goods are, where your customer is and which marketplace you use, because some marketplaces account for the VAT themselves. We check each channel when we set you up.
